Ministry is a Gift From God for Others,
Not For Ourselves
Gifts given from the heart such as monetary gifts and/or material gifts are always needed and greatly appreciated. But one of the greatest gifts you can give, especially these days when it is so valuable, is the gift of your time.
Do nothing out of selfishness; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves, each looking out not just for his own interest, but also for those of others. Have the same attitude that is yours in Christ Jesus. For God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you both to desire and to work. Phil 2:3-5, 13
God gives us gifts for His good purpose, that we will both desire to use them to help others and will work toward the fulfillment of the gifts given through us for others. When you give of your time in heartfelt service to others in the name of Jesus, you cannot out-give our loving God. You will receive much from Him in return.
Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you. Luke 6:38
