Have You Ever Thought of Becoming Catholic?

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic, contact the R.C.I.A. Coordinator at Holy Ghost Church in Hammond, Wanda Hutches. The Inquiry Meetings usually start in August, and weekly meetings continue until Easter. The Rite of Christian Iniation is for adults or children who have not been baptized, or for baptized persons of Christian denominations. Baptized Roman Catholics who have not received the sacrament(s) of Eucharist or Confirmation are also invited to attend.

   Pompeii Hall Gets a Facelift!

As you can see by these pictures, renovations on the kitchen and drink room are in full swing. Renovations will continue through September. Parish President, April Baiamonte, is doing a wonderful job of coordinating this renovation. Volunteers are appreciated. If you would like to help, please contact April or Guy, or call the Church Office.

Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church is located in the Village of Tickfaw,  a rural community near the college town of Hammond, Louisiana. The Italian parishioners, who worked in many trades, built the church, Pompeii Hall, St. Dominic Hall, the chapel and ballpark with their own hands. Since then, with the influx of people after Katrina, many more cultures and very good friends have been added to the parish community. However, the Italian heritage remains a strong influence in the life of the parish.

The priests, staff, and parishioners of Our Lady of Pompeii would like to "Welcome" all visitors and newcomers to join us in worship and ministry on Weekends and Holy Days. When you join with us, it compliments and adds to the gifts and talents of the Body of Christ that flow within this community.

As the body is one though it has many parts,
and all the parts, though many,
are one body, so also Christ.
God placed the parts, each one of them,
in the body as he intended.
Now you are Christ's body,
and individually parts of it.
1 Cor 12:12,18,27

You are also invited to join with us in fellowship
through the various activities and events
that occur in our parish throughout the year.

Please feel free to look through the many pages
of this site to learn more about
our church community.
